Some Banda History

In the 1880s, Banda music was established in Sinaloa, Mexico, a state in Mexico. It exploded into popularity in the 1890s throughout Mexico. The roots of the music comes from the overlapping of Mexican music and German polka music. At that time, a lot of the German Mexicans lived in the Mexican states, Sinaloa, Chihuahua, Jalisco, and Nuevo Leon. Mexican music found it's way here by Mexican immigrants and Banda music followed the movement of the immigrants. It is mainly played in the southeast part of the United States but still played all over the country present day.

What Are The Instruments?

In Banda music, they would often have many  instruments such as, 3 trumpets, 4 clarinets, 3 valve trombones or slide trombones, 2 E flat alto horns, and 1 sousaphone. Banda music gets divided into groups too, like an orchestra. They would often have about 16 people playing in the bands.
